can involve improving any aspects of the self like personal qualities, skills, creativity, thoughts,

whether or not we’ve improved is very social. It helps enhance strength and skills, heal

relationship, improve mental health and also help to achieve the goals.


1. Save your single second

Mel Robbins said that, “The time is now. Stop hitting the snooze button on your life.” All the

people have 24 hour per day but only wise people are able to spend their time wisely. But, it is

the most challenging task for the modern youths. Multi-tasking will cost you 40% of your

productivity according to behavioral psychologists Susan Weinschenk. Therefore never attempt

two work simultaneously, that kills your time when switching the task. Better to focus on only

one task until it’s done. You can also avoid unnecessary meetings that wastes your valuable

time. Also practice to say no. It’s difficult to tell colleagues that you don’t have time to help

them but it is necessary. Next thing is wake up an hour early, your will have extra hour to invest

on other productive work. It is the best option to buy some helpful gadgets like microwaves,

washing machine etc to save your time. According to research 15-20 percent of adults

procrastinate regularly. Procrastinating can be drag on our productivity as we waste our free

time and delay important tasks. So, stay far from procrastination to save your every seconds. At

last, “time and tide wait for none.” Every individual must understand the value of time in order

to do well in self- improvement. The ones who waste time are those who don’t create their

own identities.

2. Motivate yourself to work

We all lose motivation from time to time. The only way to motivate yourself is think it as a

cup of tea. You just think about how good it must feel to be that. Make impossible look

possible and easy. If you can’t motivate yourself then nobody else can do. Therefore invest

your daily 10-15 minutes on reading, it will enhance your confidence and motivates you to

work. The most successful people in the world attribute their success to reading a lot of

books. To get motivated quickly just do it what you have started. You must not think about

anything else, suppressing all other thoughts, keeping your mind blank, acting like a robot. I

know it sound weird but it does work. Otherwise you will debate whether you should do it

now or there are other exciting options available. Also start acknowledging all the good you

are doing. Celebrate your little wins in your life. This will motivate you, encourage you and

3. Outsmart your smartphones

We now use our smartphones for work, entertainment and information daily as a result we

have developed a new set of emotional and behavioral patterns. In our technology crazed

world, instead of spending even a second alone with ourselves we reflexively turn to our

phones for entertainment, comfort or distractions. Our phones offers all sorts of fun stuff

like messages from our friends, news, games, apps and media which harm our self-

potential in case of excess. Our daily lives consists of us consuming both social and regular

media, so we absorb unrealistic expectations for how our body should look like, how

romantic relation should be, how much the likes and followers on instagram should be.

Therefore try to be true to yourself. Turning off those attention-hungry pop-ups is the

number one step to cut down on your device usage. If you can’t stay without checking your

phone then make a schedule. Touch your phone only when you finish your task or give five

minutes at the end of an hour. You can also choose time limit settings for apps. When you

really need to focus, literally hide your phone in a drawer, inside the blanket, another room

etc. Otherwise you will not able to improve yourself even with the thousands of tips.

4. Break your bad habits

Everyone has habits, and there’s nothing inherently wrong with them. Some are pretty

useful and some are bad like gossiping, biting nails, no sleep, skip meals, procrastination,

addictions etc. Breaking unwanted habits can be difficult, especially if you’ve been engaging

in them for a long time. But breaking an un-healthy habit can be done. Good or bad habits

are routines and routines are showering or driving to work are automatic and make our

lives easier. One of the burning issue that every youths are suffer from is intoxication. Also

pot smokers hold smoke I their lungs longer so, it may cause lung’s cancer. Nowadays

people need every facilities so they settled down themselves in a heavily polluted area.

Getting frequent sunburns due to not covering whole body is another popular habit among

teenagers. Any event is incomplete without drinking, it is nowadays a fashion. Another big

problem is having many sexual partners, when you have high sexual partners then you’re

high to get STDs and it can’t let you to come out from the comfort zone. It will kills your

strength, discipline and confidence. According to research, it has been observed that young

people who are exposed to sexual or pornographic content at a very young age are highly

likely to develop an intimacy disorder. The exposure may cause trauma and it won’t let an

individual in interpersonal improvement. Not only this stay away from toxic relationship,

stop self-doubts and overthinking. Listen to yourself and give a time to replace bad habits

with new one.

5. Prioritize self-caring

As we all struggle to keep up learning to prioritize yourself and taking the time to care for

yourself is not only lovely, it’s an absolute essential. Self-care is not a luxury, it’s a must.

Your physical space is a reflection of your mental health. Clearing the clutters in your space

helps to clear the clutter in your mind. Not only is getting active good for your physical well-

being but it is also for relieving stress. When we care ourselves more then we’re driving

ourselves in the path of self-improvement. We also are what we eat, so feed yourself

nourishing items only to make sure you have the energy to accomplish all of your goals.

Acknowledge that you are doing your best. As we know, comparison is the thief of joy. So,

run your own race on the way of improvement. Daily speak to yourself, dedicates 10

minutes for yourself, listen to yourself, be your best friend on your worst day. Self-caring is

the primary step in the self-improvement. Share your improvements and achievements with

your close one, their supports and blessing will encourages you to move ahead. There can’t

be the all well-wisher in the group so it is not necessary to share your next plans, daily

routine and secret happy life to others.

6. Find a meaningful purpose in life

Your purpose in life is as unique to you as your fingerprint. We all have a particular set of

talents, experiences, skills and interests that light us up. Purpose is the long process, not the

short-term goal. It is related to these, but it is your reason for being. It is why you get out of

bed in the morning, even when you’re tired, and you know the tasks and challenges ahead

are going to be hard or even boring. Even a strong sense of purpose can wear you down.

That’s why ideally, your purpose blends with what interest you brings joy. For other, finding

meaning in our work and connecting it to our personal sense of purpose isn’t a cup of tea.

Between work, family, relationship, responsibilities we try to find the meaningful purpose of

our life. Having the sense of purpose comes from feeling connected to others. Follow your

passion and interest because they can show you the way to a meaningful life. Transfer your

pain into purpose. Practice gratitude and giving back because it enhance your sense of

meaning and purpose in life. We all make mistakes, but instead of beating yourself up for

your failures, try to see each setback as an opportunity to grow. Behind every successful

person is clarity of purpose. And unless you find yours, you’ll continue to cruise through life

on autopilot. Identifying, acknowledging, and honoring your purpose is the foundation of a

well-rounded life.

7. Improve your spiritual health

Spirituality is a sense of internal wellbeing and how you connect with something greater

than yourself, whether that’s a higher power, nature, soul or humanity as a whole. Some

people experience spirituality through religion. And spirituality can provide hope when

there doesn’t feel or look like there is any. A lot of spiritual practice can help you to find

peace. Yoga is for everyone at any level that help your mind, body and spirit connect

together and it reduces the stress, depression and overthinking. There are different

meditation available according to your need like music meditation, walk meditation, mantra

meditation, peace meditation etc. Spend your time in nature and in the service of god, in

the service of spouse, children etc. Our brain produces four hormones where Dopamine and

Endorphin hormones produces when we involves in the matter of addiction, intoxication

etc. These chemicals gives the happiness for the short term but Serotonin and Oxytocin

produces when we involves in the work of volunteer, doing services in the temple, helping

other, donating etc. Therefore these chemicals last the happiness for even 20 years.

Spiritual health also helps to keep our body pure and fit.

8. Set a realistic goal

Setting a goal anything from getting a degree or landing a new job to achieving a new level

of physical fitness is a big step toward improving your life. In-fact setting goals at the start of

a new week, month or year can naturally lead to increased motivation. A realistic goal is one

that you can reach given your current mindset, motivation level, timeframe, skills and

abilities. It helps you to identify not only what you want but also what you can achieve.

When you examine your goals carefully to make sure each goal is realistically achievable,

you increase your chances for success. It maximizes your time and resources and helps keep

you motivated. It also helps boost your self-esteem. The simple act of writing down a goal is

the first step toward achieving it. Written goals helps you analyze your expectations. Make

an inventory of the resources like time, motivation etc to easily access your goal. Milestone

also help you see your goals in smaller segments, breaking down your task into manageable

segments. It is much easier to follow sequential steps than to try to complete everything at

once. If I said, “I’m going to be the best graphic designer ever.” Then it is unrealistic goal but

if I said, “I will improve my design skills by completing additional design courses as a

postgraduate.” Then it can be the realistic goal. Hence, setting a goals based on your skills,

passions, ability and hobby gives you short term motivation and long term vision.

9. Enhance your skill and creativity

Looking for ways to enhance your skills is the first step towards personal growth. It means

you recognize that you still have an unexplored potential and you wish to work on it to

become a better version of yourself. The more skills you learn, more you improve yourself.

People looking to enhance their skills may have different reasons to do it. They want self-

improvement, achieve certain goals. Beside this, Creativity is the production of non-obvious

value. Any profession, hobby, activity or task that produces work of variable value benefits

from creativity. Photography, media, art and animation, makeup, music, acting, design etc

creativity allows us to solve the problems more openly and with innovation. It opens the

mind and broadens our perspectives and can help us overcome prejudices. Therefore it id

the vital for self-improvement. Always train your skills, practice well and try to learn more.

When you learn new, you improve yourself more. Ask for feedback for your well-wishers

and seniors. Improving single skill is good but extending the limits of skill is the better

option. Always accept criticism and suggestions because it will helps to sharpen your

creativity and reduce mistakes of your skills. Observe and listen to others having similar

10. Stay positive and develop compassion for others

Bo Bennett said that, “Having a positive mental attitude is asking how something can be

done rather than saying it can’t be done.” A recent study showed that those who were

optimistic had a significantly lower risk of heart disease, infection, cancer, respiratory

disease etc. Positive thoughts make problems seem more manageable and help you

approach hardships in a more positive and productive way. When you focus on the good

things no matter how big problems you have. Practicing gratitude has been shown to

reduce stress, improve self-esteem even in the very difficult time. Studies have found that

laughter lowers stress, anxiety, and depression. Surround and spend your time with positive

people. When you become positive, you automatically develop compassion for others.

According to Science, loving, helping, compassion and caring, affection for others, kindness

produces the serotonin and oxytocin hormones by our mind which helps to keeps us happy

longer. Positive thoughts and compassion also helps us to improve us from inside.


Lastly, self-improvement is not possible until you have no self-discipline. The first

victory is to conquer yourself. Self- discipline is the bridge between goal defined and goal

accomplished. As discipline is vital in every field and it helps in the self-control that reduces

jealousy, envy, anger, and lust. Being discipline is the excellent idea on personal growth.

One can’t get long term improvement without discipline because it is the valuable gem that

everyone should wear. Lastly, when you have discipline in your life you can make small

sacrifices in the present for a better life in the future.
